Our Kanchanaburi TEFL Program has been carefully designed to fully prepare you for your first teaching role in Thailand whilst giving you an opportunity to experience the country and culture before setting off on your own Thailand adventure as a certified TEFL teacher…
The course has been designed by us to ensure that you are given a complete and well-rounded framework of what good TEFL teaching consists of – you will understand and practice the techniques and skills needed to be a great ESL teacher under the supervision of an experienced TEFL trainer. After completing the TEFL course with us, you will then launch into your first paid teaching role in one of our partner schools.
From your first weeks as a trainee with us, up until the end of your first term as a teacher, we will be here to support and guide you along the way...
80 hours of practical Face-to-Face learning
The face-to-face component is where you will begin to put the theoretical side of the course into practice. This part is designed to be interactive and engaging – where the classroom environment will be simulated and you will have a chance to participate in, and demonstrate, games and activities alongside your peers. This is where trainees have a chance to have some fun and be creative with their game ideas as well as gain confidence leading and executing classroom activities.
You will be supported and supervised by an experienced TEFL trainer who has been teaching in Thailand and has first-hand experience of the school system you will be working within. They will coach you on good teaching practices, classroom management, game instruction and lesson planning.
40 hours of online theory
This component you can complete either before you arrive in Thailand and commence the face-to-face training, or, you can complete this section of the course alongside your practical training. This is flexible and up to you to work through as you go, although we would suggest that you have the theory in mind before you move on to the face-to-face training, so that you can apply the academic side to the practical. During the online theory you will understand tools and methods for good classroom management, learning styles, and lesson planning.
